BR (Ex LNER) B12 (Ex-GER S69) Class 4-6-0, 61556, BR Lined Black (British Railways) Livery, DCC Ready

61556 was built at Wm. Beardmore’s Glasgow Works and entered traffic at Stratford during February 1921, remaining there until December 15, 1927 when it was moved to Ipswich. For the rest of its working life, the locomotive moved between Colchester, Norwich and Stratford, receiving the ACFI feed in late 1931 whilst at Stratford, before being rebuilt as a B12/3 in May 1935. 61556 was withdrawn from service whilst allocated to Norwich, in December 1957.
