It still looks modern, yet the prototype for this iconic post-war BR design at Potters Bar on the East Coast Main Line was actually built back in the 1950s.
It is of a type which can still be seen today (although sadly not in Potters Bar where the top floor has been removed, leaving the ground floor interlocking room now filled with electronics controlled remotely from Kings Cross).
Assembly is simple and the correctly coloured components make up into an attractive model without the need for any painting.
